For any business, customers are very important and they should always be treated with respect and patience.
Each day I learn how to treat different kinds of customers that I encounter.
Communication is key, there cannot be room for assumptions because this could lead to misunderstandings which can be avoided. Give your customer the room to express what they want as an end product.
Disrespecting your customers is the fastest way to shut down your business. Word travels and you don’t want negative comments about your business/services.
The more questions they ask you, the better you understand each other and clear up matters. Some customers may be scared to ask questions but do make them comfortable enough to open up and ask.
Listening is a very important skill. Listening to your customers helps to deliver quality services. Some service providers don’t know how to listen and take what the customer says- they just go on and do whatever the feel suits them and not the customer.
every business operates differently, therefore to avoid misunderstandings, explain your terms of operations to the customer before reaching agreements or providing the services. this is the part where you make sure that the customer knows exactly what to expect and when you will deliver.
When the customer is comfortable with you, it’s easier for them to communicate and give you the best description of how they want things and when.
It is easy to apply these when dealing with reasonable customers. However every now and then there will be that customer who is just unpleasant to deal with… Worry not. Just treat them with respect and once the business is done… Let it end there.
